Equal Employment Opportunity Office (Civilian)Bldg 5164, Utah Avenue (253) 967-9078 Fax: (253) 967-4696 Hours of Operation Mon-Fri 0730-1630 The Civilian Equal Employment Opportunity staff serves as advisers to the Commander, Staff, Managers, Employees and Job applicants on matters related to the planning and implementation of Department of the Army EEO Program goals for appropriated and nonappropriated fund employees. The EEO Office is responsible for the development of Affirmative Employment Program for Minorities and Women in accordance with guidance provided by EEOC and DA. Another major EEO program is nonappropriated fund employees, job applicants and former employees who allege discrimination within 45 days of the discriminatory event or personnel action. Resolution of EEO complaints at the lowest possible level is the primary objective of the complaint process. Involvement and program commitment by all Management officials is the key in complaint resolution and the Affirmation Employment Program. Servies provided to Soldiers and family members include counseling, instruction and the processing of formal complaints. Soldiers are encouraged to use their chain of command as the primary channel for addressing EO concerns.
